Diamond Tools

While diamond tools are a smaller part of our business, we have a wide range tools available for many applications.  Many clients are pleasantly surprised how cost effective diamond tools are.

Compared to conventional cutting tools such as HSS, M42, cobalt, Tin coated & carbide tools, diamond and Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) will have a higher initial cost.  This cost is frequently and significantly outweighed by tool performance, giving up to ten fold better value.

Diamond tools in our range:

• Electroplated
• Resin bonded
• Metal bonded
• PCD/PCBN (poly-crystalline)

All tools are available in either diamond or CBN materials

Electroplated tools

Core drills, routers, slitting wheels and internal tools are usually supplied using electroplating techniques in a wide of particle sizes, for rapid stock removal or where a fine finish is required.

Electroplated tools are normally available within a two week production period and are usually the lowest cost tools. Our clients include major ceramic producers, a variety of glass manufacturers, ship building, foundries, the automotive industry and distributors.

Resin bonded tools

Resin bonded tools and wheels are offered as conventional peripheral wheels, or as more complex shapes for sharpening or product removal.

Resin bonded products have the advantage of being more forgiving than metal bonded tools. This is an important feature where more intricate operation is needed. Due to this characteristic of the resin bond, this may provide a shorter operational performance than the higher cost metal bonded tools.

Clients encompass the timber trade; saw mills and saw doctors, ceramics, glass and construction industries.

Metal bonded tools

Metal bonded tools are offered in many forms; drills, hones, core drills, and one off special tools to standard slitting wheels. All metal bonded tools are available in a range of fine and coarser particle sizes to suit the application.

Diamond is by far the most common particulate used.  However CBN (cubic boron nitride) is available when required.

Applications for our metal bonded tools are based in the construction, glass, ceramic, and metal industries.
