Grades of Graphite

Olmec Advanced Materials supply a wide range of applications with machined graphite products for aerospace, semiconductor, electronic, jewellery, diamond and bearings industries. 

We have extensive stocks of a variety of rods and blocks in a variety of grained graphites.  Our stock sizes start at Ø3mm for graphite rods increasing up to Ø700mm, and blocks are available in sizes up to 915mm x 375mm x 3150mm. However, other sizes available upon request.

Fine Grained Graphites

Fine grained graphite rods are stocked in a variety of different specifications to enable us to offer grades for the vast majority of applications where fine grained graphites are required.

We also supply fine grained graphite to customers to machine using their own machining facilities. However, the conductive and invasive dust that is generated during graphite machining often leads to customers preferring that they had requested Olmec to machine the graphite.   Our graphite machining equipment has been designed to accommodate the local “at tool” dust extraction, which is necessary to help prevent machinery and electrical equipment breakdown.

We stock around ten different grades of medium grained graphites with our most popular grade being MCCA. We also supply medium grained graphite to customers to machine using their own machining facilities. Coarse Grained Graphites

Coarse grained graphite rods are primarily used as graphite electrodes for electric arc and ladle furnaces in the steel industry. This area of supply is not normally an area in which Olmec offer. We tend not to deal with coarse grained graphite’s because we specialise in other areas.
